Our Boarding Houses
Hazel House
Hazel House is located within the school grounds behind the Dwight Centre, it is a free standing Boarding House that benefits from a quiet, safe setting, it also has its own garden. The House is spread over three floors with staff accommodation on the top floor. The Ground floor has a duty office where staff members are always available for help, or just a chat. We have a large common room for relaxation and newly refurbished study bedrooms for focused homework and rest. At the moment, Hazel house is home to only our female international pupils.
Hazel House has four bedrooms, and a maximum capacity of twelve pupils. This means that strong relationships can be made between everyone in the house. Boarding staff pride themselves on getting to know our international boarding pupils really well, this has a positive impact on all aspects of their time at Wisbech Grammar School.
Warren House
Warren House is situated at the far-side of the school fields. It is very much a home, with all the comforts one would expect! Warren is a converted residential house, so it is no wonder it feels so homely. The house is spread over two floors, with the staff office and resident member of staff situated on the first floor. Warren House has a large garden which backs onto the school fields, perfect for sports in the summer evenings. This year, Warren is being used solely for our male international pupils accommodation.
Warren house has six bedrooms and a total capacity for sixteen boarders. Bedrooms vary within the house, some rooms with space for up to four pupils and some with space for two or three. Each house has a team of housekeepers as well as its own laundry facilities that boarders can use independently on weekends.
Despite both houses having their own unique character, the community prides itself on the ethos of teamwork. We look after each other and celebrate our successes and face our challenges together.
