We would like to congratulate 4th Form Pupil Elyn Lauder for all her swimming achievements over the past 4 weeks representing the ‘West Norfolk Swimming Club’ during the counties event held at the UEA Norwich.
To qualify for her place at counties Elyn had to first secure a set time for her swimming capabilities, in which she was 1 of 15 of the fastest swimmers in the county. During the Championship Elyn was successful in bringing home the Gold medal for her 400m freestyle (15 yrs), as well as securing a further 3 Silver medals for her 800m freestyle (15 yrs), 200m freestyle (15 yrs), 200m butterfly (16 yrs and under), and a bronze medal for her 200m butterfly in the open age group.
During the first heat Elyn also achieved a personal best for her 800m freestyle, beating her registered time by 15 secs. This is an impressive achievement for Elyn who not only dedicates 6 evenings a week plus weekends to her swimming passion, but she also volunteers as a swim coach to the younger squads in order to achieve her Duke of Edinburgh Silver award.
Elyn has now earnt her place to take part in the Regionals for her 200m butterfly which is due to take place in the upcoming months. We wish her all the best of luck for her next competition!
